Christchurch St Pat’s ride

UPDATE:

Hi Troops and Troopesses

Just reminding you of the exploratory ride along  the new bike path along side the southern motorway extention coming up this Sunday.

New news is that Christchurch’s own Ground Effect have kindly given us a “flying nun” super comfy cycle top to give away to one lucky rider. Its stylish enough to wear for good and casual enough to feel ok about sweating in!  But you’ve got to be there on Sunday to be in the draw to win.

Dear frockers,

Canterbury’s continued settled weather for March means we can be pretty
confident SUNDAY 17 MARCH will be good biking weather to explore the
new Southern Motorway Bike path.

Frockers Evan and Chris will escort us on this 22km-return ride. The
(mostly sealed) path has 3 tunnels, an over bridge and a couple of
controlled road crossings so we can offer this as a safe and kid-
friendly ride.

At the half way point we’ll call into Thyme Café, 597 Springs Road,
Prebbleton to check out their great range of homemade slices and
drinks.

START: 2 P.M. Westlake Park car park (off Westlake Drive Halswell)
DRESS: A green theme, of course! It’s St Pat’s Day
CONTACT: Evan or Chris 027 433 8892 evanj@xtra.co.nz if you need more
details (sorry this programme does not let me put in maps).
