Save these dates:

January 20th, Wednesday: Gardens Magic Ride

We’ll meet on the waterfront and ride up to listen to the Roseneath Centennial Ragtime Band at the Botanic Gardens ‘Gardens Magic’ events. We will take a gradual route up Bowen Street. Bring along a picnic blanket, food for dinner and a drink you like! You could get some of Wellington’s best takeaway Pizza from Costra Nostra located in the Thorndon shops. We will enjoy a picnic together on the flat lawn by the Soundshell. The band starts at 8. Bring a warm layer too. It tends to get cold by 8!
When? Wednesday, 20th Jan, meet at 5.45pm
W
here? Meet at Kupe statue on the waterfront (on the ocean side of the Boatshed and the Star Rowing Club) and ride to Botanic Gardens.

Join the facebook event to be kept up to date.

February 14th: Love to Roll

Frocks on Bikes is pleased to invite you along to our annual date ride around the bays! This year we are riding to the Island Bay Festival so Lovers to Roll can check out the new Island Bay cycleway on their way home!
Wear your classy date threads and bring someone you love (to be with) – a partner, a friend, flatmate, brother, sister, mother, son, daughter, or even your pet!
Meet at Freyberg Beach at 12 noon – we’ll cruise in a leisurely fashion around the bays to the Island Bay Festival.

March 4th: #Friding ride

What’s Friding? It’s riding your bike, on a Friday – just because we can. Date TBC but likely to be the first Friday of March, if it’s fine. We’ll choose the route and destination closer to the time, depending on wind direction, and whether the desire for ice cream or refreshing beverages is stronger!
Meet somewhere on the waterfront around 5ish (TBC) . Ride for about 30-40min, followed by cafe/ice cream/drinks stop.

March 27th: Easter Frocknic by the Sea

Take the train to Paekakariki and cycle along Te Ara o Whareroa, the new section of paved trail through the Queen Elizabeth Park. We will find a spot for lunch. There’ll almost certainly be an Easter themed scavenger hunt. You can choose to return to Paekakariki after lunch, or continue along the trail to Raumati South.

We’ll stop at the Raumati Social Club for a refreshment. Return through Queen Elizabeth Park in time to catch the 3:45 (approx) train back to Wellington.

When? Sunday, March 27th, at 10.15am
RSVP to frocksonbikes@gmail.com – essential as we can’t book train space, but we can warn them they’ll need extra room!
