Details of January’s ride and much more

A rather belated HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all!
We have some great rides set down for the first 4 months of 2016 Details of the main Frocks ride for January is attached, and here’s a summary of other frocks and bike-related events coming up:
Friday January 22: Fossil Fuel Free Coast 2 Coast riders leave the city from 10 Montana Drive, Ilam. ETD: 2.30pm. Destination: Springfield. Why not join in the cavalcade out of the city for a few kms at least if you are free. February Events:
Wednesday 10: GO BY BIKE DAY. There will be several sites around the city where you can pop in for free breakfast snacks, spot prizes and bike-related activities like bike wofs. Organizers of the CIPT, Antigua Bridge and Hagley Park/Matai Street and the Community and Public Health events need volunteers. Can you help? Please get in touch if you can:
February’s FROCKS RIDE will be a Garden tour on Saturday 20 (or rain date Sunday 21)
The Nostalgia Festival at Ferrymead is on 20 February. Great for those of us with vintage bikes!
On the weekend of 27/28th February frocker Leisa McNaughton arrives in Christchurch on her 3,000km Cape Reinga to Bluff cycle tour…towing pooch Indy in the dog trailer! There may be an opportunity to join her as she comes into the city…hopefully details to come.
Google the Bikewise website for details of Christchurch’s Go by Bike Day and for other events happening over February.
March’s FROCKS RIDE is on Saturday 12 March for a ride from Botanic Gardens to Culture Galore at Ray Blank Park. Also 12 March, ICECycles has a free bike fix ups at 39 Nursery Road (ex Phillipstown School) from 12-3pm.
April’s FROCKS RIDE is Saturday 16 April (rain date Sunday 17) for a City Art Tour.
As always, if you no longer wish to get these emails, let me know. Likewise, if you have any great ideas for rides and events we want to hear about them! Connie and Meg
