Biketober and Friends on Bikes

Hey Friends on Bikes

There are loads of cycling things coming your way throughout Biketober. So many that I will send out another newsletter in a couple of weeks’ time to remind you of more good stuff in the second half of Biketober. Check out the Rave opening event (finishing off with dancing and free Rollickin Gelato ice-cream), free try outs at the velodrome at Denton Park, cycle tours around the red zone and more.

On another note, and very coincidently, around the time we were asking you about out name change the Frocks groups in Auckland and Wellington were having a similar crisis of identity. About 12 of us from around the country convened on zoom last week to discuss whether we collectively take on a new name, keeping the kaupapa tho. While Connie and I are very keen to keep our name “Friends on Bikes”, as voted by you, we may have an extra by-line name, shared by all former frocks groups to unite us- keeping us very much same but different. Watch this space!
