Blue Berry Ride is on this Sunday, 10am Prebbleton

Good Morning All
Obviously the weather bomb last Sunday put paid to our Blueberry Ride. Connie is offering a repeat performance for this Sunday, 29th January.
Meet: 10am at Thyme Café, 597 Springs Road, Prebbleton. The plan is to cycle 6 1/2 km along country roads to Blueberry Bliss Farm (475 Robinsons Road, Broadfield), pick and pay for your berries and then head back for lunch at the Bridge in Prebbleton (Thyme Cottage is changing ownership and probably not up and running).
Anyone looking for a longer ride can contact Connie at 021 027 79250 she’ll organise a start at Westlake Reserve around 9.15am. This will put another 6km onto the ride’s length.
The blue dress theme still stands! I’m off cycle touring in Northland so won’t be with you for January’s jaunt. Meg and Connie

PYO Blue Berry Ride

Happy New Year All
We start off the New Year with a PYO Blue Berry Ride on Sunday 22nd January 2017. Meet: 10am at Thyme Café, 597 Springs Road, Prebbleton
The plan is to cycle 6 1/2 km along country roads to Blueberry Bliss Farm ( 475 Robinsons Road, Broadfield), pick and pay for your berries and then head back for lunch at Thyme Café. If you want a pre-ride coffee, just plan to come a little earlier! Anyone looking for a longer ride can contact Connie at 021 027 79250 she’ll organise a start at Westlake Reserve around 9.15am. This will put another 6km onto the ride’s length.
Just for fun, we’ll make it a blue theme. But as I understand it the berries could stain, so maybe its best not to wear your best pale blue satin number! Meg

Santa Parade Ride and other December cycling events

Hi Everyone
Its hard to believe that our last feature ride for the year is coming up in less than 2 weeks. I think this is the lucky 7th time we’ve joined in with other cycling groups and rode in the Santa Parade. They just get on getting bigger and better. So start thinking about your outfit and drag out the excess tinsel for your bike!
We have a plan for something a little different for our January feature ride, but please, if you have a great idea for a ride for the other 11 months of the year, let us know and we’ll fit it in! Merry Christmas everyone 🙂
Meg and Connie

November Frocks Newsletter

Hi Everyone
Welcome to new members- our numbers on this group are nudging 400, with many more likes on our facebook page. Do let me know if you no longer wish to receive these posts.
Our November newsletter is a little early as we are promoting Spokes Canterbury’s Quarryman’s Trails ride this Sunday, 30 October. Also, our Frocks Feature Ride is pretty early in the month this time being on the evening of Guy Fawkes: we plan to ride out to see the fireworks display at the Brighton Pier, weather permitting! Yes we’ll be travelling in more traffic than Frocks rides tend to do, but it will be slower than usual and we’ll have safety in numbers :). The first part of the ride is in daylight, but if you opt to ride back please check to see if your bike lights are in working order! Meg and Connie
